New Design Studio
Laurel Group is growing! With the need for increased space, an adjoining property was purchased and re-furbished creating an all-new, top-notch design studio. The character of this historic building was maintained by showcasing the original timber wood beams in the ceiling and walls, while adding a modern touch by updating the staircase. New furniture and a Vibe Board finished it off creating an ideal collaborative workspace for our outstanding design team. Per Lead Designer Justin, “This new space really allows the designers to work together and learn from each other. Everyone is thrilled with the new studio!”

RENSON TEXAS & NYC
The cold January weather didn’t stop the Laurel Group from furthering their education. Members of our production team attended detailed training on assembling Renson pergolas in Dallas, Texas. The guys impressed the instructors with their insightful questions along with how well they feed off each other and work together.

Laurel employees’ product knowledge is impressive due to training like the one the design team attended in February at the Renson New York City studios. Designers spent two days learning about the Renson pergolas, their features, and accessories and have since applied this expertise when speaking with customers about the options available to them. Devin feels, “The ongoing education provided by The Laurel Group has been invaluable, furthering my knowledge of the field which benefits not only me, but our clients as well.”

Donations To Turkey
The recent devastation in Turkey and Syria caused by the earthquakes prompted employees Volkan and Lina to host a supply drive. Our teams stepped up and supplied 100 flashlights, batteries, 40 sleeping bags, pallets of new clothing, baby items, and other much needed supplies that will be shipped directly to the victims. Many thanks to Volkan and Said for picking up and donating these critical supplies. And many thanks to all those who donated to help the needy.

HOLIDAY PARTY
The holidays are a time to come together and appreciate the bonds we have with one another. Our 2022 Holiday Party provided staff and their partners an evening of socializing with old friends and making new ones. Bloomberg News / Crains new york – Pool Craze/Delays
While the changes in leaf blower regulations have been a recent topic of discussion, so has the impact of supply chain, labor, and building permit issues. This was brought to light in the Bloomberg article dated 5/18/22 which indicated that these issues are even affecting those in the Hamptons. Families started the process of purchasing and installing pools in Spring 2022 for hopeful completion in Spring 2023. Mark was quoted saying, “What used to take four weeks [to get approved] now takes 90 days. If we submit something in January, and [those in the town building department] still haven’t read it in April. I can’t say for sure you’ll be swimming next summer.”

TLG Family Picnic
After a break due to COVID restrictions the TLG Family Picnic returned in 2022! The weather was outstanding, and the day was filled with fun and games for staff members and their families. After eating their fill of an array of delicious food, children enjoyed the petting zoo and slipping down the water slide while the adults challenged each other to corn hole. At the end of the day, there were many choruses of, “Please Dad! Just five more minutes!”
