"It costs us more in labor, because it's not as productive, it's not as powerful. And in addition, the machinery costs more, the battery life is inadequate," he said. In recent media news, Newsday interviewed Mark for a story about the transition from gas leaf blowers to electric leaf blowers. Updated laws ban the use of the blowers anytime on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day for both residential and commercial properties. Previously the ban was only for Sundays and holidays. Electric powered blowers are not restricted. Mark said that easing away from gas-powered leaf blowers is best for everyone to adapt. To read the full article please click here.

Newsworthy landscapes!! The New York Times article, Art in the Garden: A Monet Brought to Life features the Entel property designed and built by The Laurel Group’s President/CEO Mark McAteer. The article states, “Mr. McAteer said the trend toward features like fireplaces and putting greens makes backyards more inviting. “It is no longer just mid-May to mid-September,” he said. The options cover every base. Because a covered terrace and an outdoor kitchen at the Entel home, Mr. McAteer built a court that can be used for basketball, volleyball or short-court tennis.
