CEO of Laurel Group, Mark McAteer, received a special invitation to attend the May 22nd, 2024, Yankee game against the Mariners from EOS Consultant Michael Deutsch. Excited for the opportunity, Mark eagerly accepted and headed to the game. As the innings unfolded, Mark not only enjoyed the thrilling game but also had the chance to meet and connect with others who were collaborating with Michael. The event proved to be a fantastic blend of sports excitement and valuable networking, highlighting the power of connections both on and off the field.

As a follow-up to the September 2023 news, the Alley Way project in Huntington (a 1653 Foundation project) is slated to receive Federal Funding. This effort to improve a blighted alley way in the heart of Huntington downtown area involved the initial clean-up in September which will make way for the final creation of a vibrant and safe space that promotes art, culture, and commerce while enhancing the overall community experience. The Laurel Group’s reputation as experts in the field have led to being highlighted in several noteworthy news outlets including CBS2s news. Reporter Carolyn Gusoff reached out to Mark for her 11/10/21 story regarding gas powered leaf blower restrictions. Mark indicated that he is not against the change, but it comes with a cost. "It costs us more in labor, because it's not as productive, it's not as powerful. And in addition, the machinery costs more, the battery life is inadequate," he said. In recent media news, Newsday interviewed Mark for a story about the transition from gas leaf blowers to electric leaf blowers. Updated laws ban the use of the blowers anytime on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day for both residential and commercial properties. Previously the ban was only for Sundays and holidays. Electric powered blowers are not restricted. Mark said that easing away from gas-powered leaf blowers is best for everyone to adapt. To read the full article please click here.

Newsworthy landscapes!! The New York Times article, Art in the Garden: A Monet Brought to Life features the Entel property designed and built by The Laurel Group’s President/CEO Mark McAteer. The article states, “Mr. McAteer said the trend toward features like fireplaces and putting greens makes backyards more inviting. “It is no longer just mid-May to mid-September,” he said. The options cover every base. Because a covered terrace and an outdoor kitchen at the Entel home, Mr. McAteer built a court that can be used for basketball, volleyball or short-court tennis.
